Tomorrow, Friday October 12, 2012, marks the second annual Kids Run the Show night.  During the game kids will have the opportunity to run the game night events.  As the Langley Rivermen Organization strives on a family friendly atmosphere, they came up with this innovative idea last season and it was a huge hit with fans of all ages.  The kids will have a chance to work as ushers at the LEC, see how video production is done for the games, accompany me throughout the game and see just what kind of antics I will be up to, and the list goes on and on.  If you are a kid and would like to participate in running the show and its ok with your parents, then email Kris Pidgeon @ kpidgeon@langleyeventcentre.com

That night the Rivermen welcome the West Kelowna Warriors to town.  This is the 1 and only visit the Warriors will make to the LEC this regular season so you are not going to want to miss this.  Puck drop is 7:15pm and as always tickets are $25 for a family of 4(2 Adults, 2 Kids), $10 for Adults, $7 for Students/Seniors, and kids 6 and under all always free.  You can get your tickets at the box office the day of the game or beat the rush and order tickets ahead of time by going to langleyrivermen.com or call (604)882-8800.

Cranberries and Hockey

First of all I would like to apologize for taking so long since my last blog post but as you can imagine it has been crazy busy around here lately what with hockey season started and all the great community events that I have been attending the last couple of weeks.

This Saturday, October 6, 2012 is the annual Cranberry Festival held on the main drag in Fort Langley.  Cranberry farmers from all over the Lower Mainland will have there cranberries on location for sampling and to purchase plus many vendors from local businesses will be there to showcase their expertise.  There will be live entertainment as well as a kids play area so bring the entire family down for the festivities from 10am - 4pm.

On Saturday night the Rivermen will host the first of a back to back game against the Prince George Spruce Kings.  Make sure to get your tickets and bring the whole family as you will not want to miss this.  The last time these 2 teams played each other was at the BCHL Showcase where the Spruce kings defeated the 'Riv' in OT.  Puck drops at 7:15pm at the LEC.

Sunday will be the back end of this back to back series.  At the conclusion of the game will be the first skate with the Rivermen.  Fans, bring your skates because immediately following the game you can have a chance to meet, get autographs and skate with your favorite hockey players.  I will be out there as well and I always look forward to taking pictures with the fans and having fun.  The skate is included in your admission to the game.  Rentals are provided for an additional fee.  Puck drop on Sunday is 2pm.

Make sure to get your tickets for this exciting weekend of hockey.  Tickets are only $25 for a family pack(2 children, 2 adults), $10 for Adults, $7 for Students and Seniors and kids under 5 are free.  As always you can purchase tickets from langleyrivermen.com, langleyeventscentre.com, at the LEC Box Office or call (604)882-8800.
