Rivermen Look to Make History

After struggling out of the gate this season, the Langley Rivermen are looking to make history tonight as they try once again to make it 2 in a row in the win column.  Langley hosts Powell River tonight as they get set to play their third game in as many days.

This week was mostly a travel week, having played 2 of the 3 on the Island.  The Rivermen come away with the split on the Island losing 7-1 to Victoria on Thursday night but mending the wounds Friday defeating the Nanaimo Clippers by a score of 4-3.

Tonight's game is the fourth meeting for these 2 teams.  Powell River has a very impressive defense core.  The Kings come into the contest with a record of 7-3-1 which is good for First Place in the Coastal Conference Standings.  After the win last night, the Rivermen improve their record to 4-7 and are only one point behind Alberni Valley and Nanaimo for the 6th spot.

Also, fans tonight the Rivermen welcome two special guests, as Mr.Hockey Gordie Howe and Mr. Goalie Glenn Hall will drop the ceremonial face off.  Also, 10 lucky fans have a chance to meet and greet both Mr. Hockey and Mr. Goalie, so make sure to get your tickets because you are not going to want to miss this.  Game time tonight is 7:30pm.

As for now your up to date.  See you at the rink.
