Great Night for Hockey

Last night was the perfect night for Pre-Season hockey at the George Preston Recreation Center.  Your Rivermen hosted their NAHL counterparts, the Wenatchee Wild last night in exhibition play, and came out with all guns a blazing.  Every hit could be felt from every seat in the building and possibly out in the parking lot.  Both teams left everything on the ice.  Darnell Dyck, one of the returning players from last years team, opened up the scoring for the Rivermen, with his first of two goals.  Wenatchee would answer back shortly thereafter with a tally of their own.  The Wild would then go ahead with a powerplay goal.  Justin Cintas was extremely impressive last night with his speed and hands and all his hard work paid off as he netted one for the Rivermen as well.  So, after regulation, we were all tied up and headed to exciting overtime, where in the second overtime, Dyck and Ryan Bakken jumped the boards and right into the frey.  On a great rush Dyck scored his second of the night and the eventual game winner, and sent 200 very pleased fans home from the GPRC.

If you were not in the building last night, tonight is your chance to come out as the Rivermen host Wenatchee Wild in the second game of this 2 game Pre-Season action.  Puck drop is 7pm @ George Preston Recreation Center.  Tickets are only $5 dollars at the door and children under six are free.  Remember it is cash only.

Also fans, today your Langley Rivermen and myself will be at the Langley Cruise in Car Show in front of Levy's Source for Sports, so come on down and say hi and enter into our name the Mascot contest.  We would love to see you all there.

Until next time.  See you at the rink.
